Live

Life is too short to not be your best self.
Life is too short to let your dreams escape you.
Life is too short to not fight for your beliefs.
Life is too short to have petty arguments.
Life is too short to not try new things.
Life is too short to lie about who you really are.
Life is too short to like only one genre.
Life is too short to avoid having conversations.
Life is too short to not share your true feelings.
Life is too short to turn down every carb.
Life is too short to give bad hugs.
Life is too short to give weak kisses.
Life is too short to let love slip away.
Life is too short to beg misery to stay.
Life is too short to hate your own voice.
Life is too short to fear commitment.
Life is too short to force commitment.
Life is too short to always be comfortable.
Life is too short to stress every little thing.
Life is too short to be serious all the time.
Life is too short to never laugh at yourself.
Life is too short to believe every rumor.
Life is too short to not be a little curious.
Life is too short to not be unapologetically you.
Life is too short to not apologize when wrong.
Life is too short to stay in the same place.
Life is too short to be perfect.
Life is too short to not make mistakes.
Life is too short to never fall.
Life is too short to contemplate getting up.
Life is too short to waste one day.
Life is too short.
Life is too sh..
Life is too..
Life is..
Life
..
So Live.

Once upon a time, we were in an undesirable situation where our mind and/ or body installed a sensor to help us indicate future encounters much like the original. Along with that sensor, came a protocol or natural response if ever placed in, what may appear to be, an identical situation. Although this may sound like it works within our best interest that may not always be the case. Have you ever been in a relationship, friendship, or job where something happened that triggered an insecurity? Did you question yourself about why you may be feeling this way or did you allow your insecurities to get the best of you and made a rash decision that possibly put your relationship, friendship, or job in jeopardy or maybe even ended it completely? What if after the rash decision we found out that our assumptions or the story we told ourselves about the situation wasn’t even true? What if due to past experiences, we allowed a negative presumption to lead us in the wrong direction?

I'm No Psychologist, but...

One of my favorite classes in college was probably the hardest one I ever took. Even through the struggle of maintaining my disappointing “C” average in the class, towards the end of my freshman year, there was a slight moment when I questioned dropping out of art school to pursue my 2nd choice on my childhood list of “‘realistic careers” as a psychoanalyst (inspired by many years of binge watching crime shows such as “Psych” and “Criminal Minds”).

When I examine my momentary lapse of confusion at a time when I was second guessing where I was and where I belong, I remember why psychology is such a fascinating subject in the first place. In my freshman psychology class I was forced to think about things that we, as human beings, don’t think about enough (or at all) on a daily basis. I was forced to look under the rug of my subconscious, dig deeper into my unconscious mind, and pull things out that have been hidden there for years. This class was the type of class that had you analyzing your entire existence.

Relation-ship

Relationship
Have you ever noticed the relation to a ship?
When we flow, it’s only natural.
Our eyes become wider as we awake to the rigid waves and can feel every dip.
Our eyelids spread further apart like the instinct of caution when our bodies are deluged with fear.
Fear.
Petrified by a commitment made and time devoted for a journey to sacred land that we may not even step foot on.
You see, relationships sink too.
Like the Titanic, the more you have built it up, the easier it is to pull you down as it descends.
If you do not drown, the swim back up will not be easy.

That's So JoMaureen

I know very little about the future. I don’t know who will be there. I don’t know what I will be doing or where I will end up. I don’t know if my goals will have changed or if I will have any at all. This gives me no anxiety.

I know very little about the future. However, everything I do know is based off a thesis that’s supporting information is compiled from my past. I do know that not everyone will be there. I do know that where ever I go will only lead me to new chapters. I do know that life is still a challenge with or without goals but having goals makes the challenge worth living. I would like to say that knowing this gives me no anxiety, but I can’t help but to feel a little anxious at times.
